This Palm OS v3.0.2 update is designed exclusively for use on Palm™ connected organizers currently running Palm OS v3.0 software (including Pilot and PalmPilot™ connected organizers with the Palm 2MB Upgrade). This update is not intended for use with Palm OS v1.0.x or Palm OS v2.0.x software - if installed, it will have no effect.Purpose The Palm OS v3.0.2 software update improves power management when the infrared (IR) function is not in use. If the Beam Receive option in the General Preferences panel is set to Off, the Palm OS v3.0.2 update is designed to reduce the overall power consumption and extend the battery life. The Palm OS v3.0.2 software update is also helpful if you use a Palm III organizer along with a PalmPilot Modem or other modem to establish PPP (point-to point protocol) connections.
